A few words about our participation and our award in the 38th IPMS-Hellas Annual Competition.

For our first participation in the IPMS Hellas exhibition-competition we chose a model that has emotional value for us, the model that led us to the creation of our bussiness, the ancient Greek trireme.

Ancient warship – Greek Trireme 1/72 scale

Her construction came about when a friend asked us to build her to decorate his professional space.
It took many hours of research on the colors and techniques to be used and even more hours to build it.
When completed, both our frined’s and our satisfaction was so intense that fuelled the underlying idea to turn our hobby into a business.
Wanting to share this story and expose our work to a wider and knowledgeable audience, we decided to join the 38th IPMS-Hellas exhibition with this model.

The International Plastic Modellers Society (IPMS) is an organization for those involved in the building of scale models. It was founded in 1963 and has over 60 member countries. Its purpose is to bring modellers together, to exchange techniques, information, knowledge, artistic views, but also through competition to improve their skills.
IPMS Hellas was founded in 1981. Like every year since its foundation, this year it has held its exhibition-competition. The turnout was great and enthusiastic. 675 models participated in the competition, 32 of them nautical in content. Among them were real masterpieces!

Judges, experts in their field, leading creators of modeling works, they judged on the basis of objective criteria. They thoroughly tested the models in the areas of symmetry, construction (assembly and puttying), painting (colour rendering and texturing), weathering and historical accuracy and real-life appearance to rate them and award them.

On the third day of the exhibition the results of the competition were announced.

The ”BRONZE” sticker attached to our participation card!

It was a great joy to hear that our model was awarded!
We looked at each other with wide open eyes, we wanted to scream but we left it for home!
We were excited, we were smiling wide and we were talking endlessly!
We were talking about the model, the award, the exhibition, the other competing models, the time and effort it took to build our model, our anxiety.
These are the moments that keep us going. But it’s also the hours on the modeling bench, when there is nothing else around, when you are completely absorbed and surrendered to your creativity and imagination.

Unprecedented moments!!

We thank everyone who voted for our model in the public vote, and of course the judges who gave us these incredible moments!

Between us…
We already have some ideas for next year!!!
