The story behind Envy Scale Models

We are Nikos and Vivi, proud owners of this family business. We are located in Athens, Greece. We begun to engage in scale modelling as a hobby back in 1996 when we first walked in a retail scale model shop and made our first purchase. Since then, we have dedicated thousands of hours giving form to these fascinating objects. Was the experience rewarding? Yes! Unquestionably yes! Despite the arduous process and painstaking attention to detail that are required to achieve the end-result, over the years we managed to gain know-how, develop technical skills, improve our mental ones, become more organized and self-disciplined, and have high standards for our work which we constantly strive to attain.

Turning our hobby into a business

A good friend of ours asked us to build for him an ancient Greek trireme model in order to decorate his office. He declared, emphatically, that this was the only way he could own such an item since he could never construct a scale model on his own. The day we delivered it to him the first word he uttered was “enviable“, a remark that later provided the inspiration for the name “Envy Scale Models”. It was then that we realized that there may be many others who wish to have a scale model but instantly dismiss the idea because of the difficulty involved.
So we armed ourselves with zeal and positive thinking, and made the step.

Our Methodology

We opt for high quality model kits by top manufacturers in the field.
Prior to construction, we carry out a thorough research and study of the original structure, its details and colours.
We only use ECO friendly paints.
All three categories Land, Air and Sea, can be covered.
We give you the option of a detailed replica of the real-life object, as well as a customized version where you can personalise the final appearance of your model.
We employ special modelling techniques to achieve optimum real-life appearance.
